Glad you are packing the Recorders biggrin.gif

Emsoboe's lovely recorder teacher gave her a bag to hold all of hers, but then they had a bit of a population explosion and now they don't all fit.

Sax and Clarinet are missing from your list tongue.gif

You are not really scared - it's just nerves! smile.gif

I am sure you are going to be just great. You have a lovely solo piece, and I will do my best to make it sound really nice (you have told Petra I am playing for you, haven't you?).

And as for the duets, well don't forget that I am playing the other part.... wacko.gif

I played my Bach piece last Saturday and thought "could do better". I went to practise it today and only played it once. This time I thought "couldn't be better". If only I had recorded it!! So what this little story says is that on Saturday anything can happen. tongue.gif

But I guess it is the same for everyone and that is why we are going. Just channel the nerves into excitement is the advice everyone gives.

Gosh, I am excited!

NOPE! tongue.gif
The Old Lady
OH good. I'll need it Skylark. wacko.gif
Gerald, it's nerves is it? Why do my legs turn to jelly then?? That's scared isn't it??
I haven't hardly practised all week. Family and work. Night duty. Yuk. I am so tired, I hate what nights do to me. ph34r.gif
It'll be OK.
My eldest daughter did her Grade 1 piano ABRSM today. Said it went OK.
Gerald, you can meet both daughters and Barry on Sunday when we come back. They have had strict instructions to keep the house tidy for when we come home, and you might come in for a cuppa laugh.gif
Bev.
skylark
Bev, just get May to stand in for you - nobody will know the difference and she's always up for making a performance of herself tongue.gif
The Old Lady
Yes, but if May comes, she'll be after Gerald and I won't get a lift home. rolleyes.gif

QUOTE(Holz Gedeckt @ Mar 19 2009, 10:44 PM) *
Poor old Gerald! Start running now, my friend.... laugh.gif
I think I might just have a secret weapon - if Bev doesn't keep May under strict control, there might just be some messing about with the accompaniment which I am going to play for her......you know, jazz it up a bit, play it very fast, then very slow. That sort of thing. piano.gif

But I wouldn't do that if everyone who has links with the OLTVA behaves properly, you have my word. angelic.gif

Well, must get an early night, I have a long drive tomorrow - and a grouphug.gif when I arrive.

goodNight.gif

The Old Lady
But Gerald, May is a ifferent person. She's nothing to do with me. I can't control her, she's a law unto herself. laugh.gif Be afraid, very afraid ph34r.gif

Bev.
You can sleep in the car on the journey - it is very comfortable. I am looking forward to meeting your family (unless it is just a trick to keep the house tidy!) Glad the eldest's exam went OK.

She will have to run very quickly to catch my car! Your lift is safe, provided you follow the instructions given in my previous post. I know you say you cannot control her, but if I were you - I would start learning how to, very quickly. No I am not afraid of May Ponsonby-Smythe. There, I have just conquered some more nerves tongue.gif

See you all tomorrow - Good night!

No making a noise when you come in late at night as we're in the shed in the garden laugh.gif
barry-clari
Hello! wave.gif

It was a lovely weekend : thank you to petrat for everything! And to everyone who performed for your company and for making it such a good concert.

Enjoyed the opera too : red wine and ice cream do go together! tongue.gif laugh.gif

There will be pictures (well done notmusimum for wielding the camera) : there's one of me that might make you all laugh laugh.gif

Thank you all again, roll on the next event (Eccles), and roll on the next Anglesey do! biggrin.gif
gedall40
Well said, Barry, I enjoyed it also. I certainly felt more confident about playing than last time, and that is one of the reasons for having a Forum Event. Those there were privileged (well I hope they thought so smile.gif ) to hear me play the piano in public for the first time for many years. And I learned a lot that I never knew about recorders.

It was good to meet up with you and also some other forumites who were new for me, plus those who I met in January. The star was of course Petrat - you did a fantastic job on the concert arrangements, refreshments, opera bookings, transport to and from the opera, and post-opera dinner. I just hope you can forgive me for the little problem with the dish.... blush.gif Glue anyone? unsure.gif

Looking forward to seeing some photographs later.

Good to meet up with you and Emsoboe again.

But I didn't say what kept you .

No one else would have guessed that you were suddenly overtaken by a moment of passion in the pub car park that could not be denied. ph34r.gif

Thanks very much Ratty for a great weekend. Everything was wonderful.
It was the least nerves I've ever had, and I actually enjoyed playing blink.gif It's working tongue.gif

I will never forget Batty singing" Show me the way to go home" in the back of your land rover, on the way to the opera. wacko.gif

Who washed up. I felt a bit guilty leaving all that washing up?????
petrat
I did the washing up with the aid of our dishwashing machine. Apart form the best Royal Doulton stuff of course. I got the dog to lick that clean.
The Old Lady
I did think your dog looked very handy. A kind of "Working Dog". Very cuddly too. COuld have brought him home really, except Gerald would not have given me a lift, and the poor old dog would have to have walked the 150 miles home sad.gif
