My teacher says she'll help me with my sax after I've got G5 clarinet but not before

I'll dig out the music again and see what I think, and yes, I'd do it accompanied this time Petrat

One of my pupils is singing Che Faro. It would be good if we could get a baroque ensemble together to do this in Benllech. So far we have a harpsichord and a cello and perhaps a violin. Are there any more players who could be added to this? Perhaps another violin or a flute? If so please let me know and I will sort out parts.
Also it would really help if I could have an idea of numbers for the opera on saturday 22nd now, even if the forms are not in and the ticket money not sent. I need to confirm numbers this week. We have seven so far and I would like to make a block booking.

If you email me a part for flute, I'll have a look at it.

Do your numbers include a total of five for me (four for friend plus one for me)?
with thanks
Before I complete my form (nearly done now) and send it off could you give more details about the recital i.e. instruments, type of programme, and expected end (I need to consider whether I will make it for my train, it may be too tight)?
thanks again

On Sunday there is going to be a recital given by Katyjay and Arwel in a very beautiful church in Moelfre, a village about two miles from Benllech. This is a church with a long and interesting history and has lovely acoustics. Do mark that into your diaries too. It is booked to take place at 2.00pm to fit in with the church services.

Another very quick query - do you want payment for the opera separately, or will putting it into the same cheque be OK?

Jan 18 2009, 10:27 AM
One cheque will be fine. I should be grateful if those who want opera tickets could get the payment to me asap though as I shall be collecting tickets tomorrow and don't want to be too much out of pocket for too long.

Thanks petrat, I'll post the form and the cheque during the course of this coming week. I think (unusually for me) that the form is filled out pretty comprehensively!

For the finale, I've put down either clarinet or flute. I'll have both instruments with me, put me on whatever instrument you feel will suit you best.

May I please come to the Anglesey event? I have been to only one before, the Leeds event this year and did enjoy it. I am not sure if Great Aunt May and Liddy were there (I am a bit confused on this point

) but if they were, I managed to escape OK

.
I am an adult learner of the flute, and a very adult player of the piano although this has taken a bit of a back seat since I started the flute in October 2007. If there are enough slots available, I may ask to play the piano, but my main reason for coming is to get performance experience on the flute.
I will be up for any ensemble, duets or (simpler) piano accompaniments if needed.

Wonderful! Another man coming! (That wasn't Maddie Trams but me, Petrat, who needs some more male voices for the puppet opera.) Yes, do come along. We have an accompanist here already who can play for everyone and I find that having a pro accompanist saves rehearsal time on the day as many forumite accompanists are tied up rehearsing other things. Get your form in and let me know if you would like an opera ticket for either friday or saturday too. Most folk will be coming to the saturday performance but you are most welcome at either or both.

Yes please, put me down for the opera on Saturday evening. I will get the form sorted out when I have decided what to play. If I choose one of my options, I will need a CD player, but I have read that this will not be a problem (just make sure it can be heard at the back of the church!) Nothing against your accompanist, though.

Plans are well in hand for the next Anglesey event. It will be held on the weekend of March 21/22 2009. On Friday 20th I will be heading off to the opera to see Marriage of Figaro in Llandudno. If anyone would like to join me please let me know in good time so that we can get tickets booked. This is always a popular one and tickets tend to go well in advance.
On Saturday 21st we will be meeting in St. Andrew's Church, Benllech for an informal concert and will have a buffet of local produce as we had last year. Our expert accompanist has agreed to offer his services once more.

There will be a couple of new items this time, including an ensemple of large recorders and
something with the puppet theatre!!!Then we will be off to the opera again. I am going to ask the theatre to hold a block of tickets for me and pay for them later when numbers are confirmed.
Afterwards we willl be hungry so there will be an Indian takeaway ready for when we come back and opera mites can come to the Rattery for an post opera supper.
This will be followed by a midnight ride on Eddie and DobbinThere are several eating places around Benllech for those who do not attend the opera. I will add details of some possible ones later.
