Hi! I'm 15, from Australia and am curious to know how you all learnt cross rhythms.. my piano teacher taught me using the Taketina method - using your whole body (arms and legs!) instead of rhymes... the triplets are stepped in a sort of triangle motion with your feet and you clap the quavers.... wink.gif ..it's sort of like a weird tribal dance ^^ ...lol.. but i must say it was so much fun!!

i did something like that. biggrin.gif
although i still have a bit of difficulty now and then when it gets extremely awkward... and i'm going to be 16 and doing my grade 6!

i reckon it takes time to master 3 against 4, i still don't feel confident with it dry.gif ... I did Grade 6 (piano) in august and totally stuffed it on the day. I ended up passing with High Distinction!! laugh.gif it's the first time ive ever scored that high before, perhaps because i had a nice examiner... smile.gif

I did the nice cup of tea method - using little rhymes to help me remember.

cross rhythms are cool !!!!
use a metronome for one of the sets of beats, then clap the other set...ie put the metronome on, and take that as the 4/4 counts, then clap 3/4 over it.........
i think that makes sense..it's rather hard to explain...........
2/4 against 6/8 is cool.........
