Just to let you know that The Learning Orchestra concert is on 10th JUly.

Also we need loads more violinists, violaists, cellos, double basses, horns, trumpets, bassoons, flute, claranet.

If you play any of these instruments and can rehearse between 6.30-9.00PM in Lancing street, Euston, London then please do come along on Thursday. Its only £50 for the whole term. The music is quite easy so you will not have a problem, it is about grade 5 standard.

If you do not want to or can't join then just remember to come along to our summer concert. We will be playing 4/5 full pieces of music, Including Brahms and Dvorak, should be a good chance to hear the work of London's amateur muscians.

Where will the concert be, as opposed to the rehearsals? I can't add it to the calendar unless I know VH. smile.gif

Is it every thursday? Do you have to audition?
Violin Hero
Every thursday. Just ask the conductor who is in charge of rehearsals. He is really friendly. Try and bring the £50 membership fee if possible becuase Alan, the treasurer wants all payments as soon as possible.

No auditions. You can try it out for one session, don't worry if you get a little lost while playing the music, I did when I went to my first session. You won't have seen the music so it is not expected of you to be perfectly in time or play every note perfectly in position etc...

edit: Just seen your siggy. I would reccommend playing flute as you as very close to grade 8. It will be easy for you. However if you want to play in second violin with me you may struggle slightly as it is for grade 5 and above.

Have not been on this sub forum in ages!

Went OKish. I slipped a bar or 2 behind on the very fast sections of movement 3 of the brahms!

My mum gave my dad a lift to the station and then I went back with her to her house. My dad was annoyed that he didn't get a chance to eat all the food left out for everyone after the concert!

Glad you enjoyed your gig.

Do let me know of any other gigs the LO are doing, and I'll put them in the calendar, and of course do continue to watch this forum - a Chester gig has been added for 2009 in the past week, so it's ever-changing!

Might not return next term to TLO. Might do it as a side venture and just go to 4 or 5 practices a term.

I am planning to join the croydon symphony, much bigger, more well know orchestra. Primarily because rehearsal times are miles more convieniant.
