Any forumites going to the Jazz Day at Chethams on Saturday?

Did anyone og to the Woodwind Day? Just wondering what it was like.

No - it's a bit too far for me, plus I have my own jazz day planned on Saturday, but it looks to be just the sort of thing your daughter would enjoy.

Great - let us know how she gets on, it will be a great experience playing with real people instead of backing tracks for a change.

I'm going to hand over to EmsOboe to tell you how the Jazz day went.


hi, the Jazz day was great, but there was alot of Chet's pupils there. The only problem was that they put me and another person in the same group twice, but both were under a different name, one was called Session : Saxaphone and flutes, and the other was called Improvisation : Intermediate. The first session was good and I learnt alot of things, but the second time it got a bit boring because it was the same thing all over again. At first they spit everyone into two groups (Big band A and Big band B), most of the people from Chet's were in Big band A, and the remaining few were in big band B and anyone who wasn't from Chet's. Overall the day was great!
