Piece 1:Sarabande and Rondeaux-Bach: 26 (ornaments should have been more precise and there were some unnecessary accents in the Sarabande)

Piece 2: Allegro Moderato-Schubert: 25 ( running chords were a bit uneven)

Piece 3: Sacro Monte-Turina: 28 (examiner was pretty happy about this piece)

Scales: 17 (messed up LH chromatics in 3rds)

Sight Reading :14 (Slow and lacking in detail though the notes and tempo was more or less accurate)

Aurals: 15 (2 wrong chords, sight singing had a few slips)

His general comments were quite encouraging and he advised me to bring my sight reading to the same level as that of my pieces.

congratulations! thats almost exactly what i got! i played the bach aswel. i played a mozart sonata and then mendlessohn for my list C.

i cant read more than 1 note at a time how can u read so many notes n still get a merit

dats v gud!!!! i just did my grade 8!!!! i hope i get as well as you do!!!! i didnt do any of the pieces in the book. i did A: Scarlatti, B: C.P.E Bach, C: Schoenburg! the CPE Bach is very hard- but thats because my fingers have gotten slower, i should practice more

I'm doing my grade 8 in novemeber, I'm so so so so so scared. My pieces are:

a) Prelude and Fugue in G - J.S.Bach

Allegro: Sonata in F minor - Beethoven

c) Waltz in E minor - Chopin

I'm really nervous, but afterwards (hopefully if i pass) I'm going to start studying for the diploma, but I'm going to get my GCSEs out the way before i take that!

i passed too!!! yay I'm very happy because I thought I failed but turns out I got 126!!! 28 for 2 pieces and 27 for another one. 14 for scales i mucked up lots!!! 17 for sight reading and 12 for aural!!!
the comment at the end was very good to, mentioning doing DipABRSM. which is good-
SO I SAY CONGRATS TO EVERYONE WHO PASSED THEIR EXAMS BECAUSE IT'S A HUGE ACHIEVEMENT!!!
