Can anyone give me a list of books i can use to get me to grade 5?

Ive been given the first 5 MTiP books, im about a grade 3-4 standard at the moment, but im going to go through those books, and really make sure ive got it all done, then take the Exams. I want to know everything needed for that grade before taking the exam.

So i have all the MTiP books, (or three are in the post tongue.gif thankyou!!)
I also inherited the little red book,

So does anyone have any recomendations?
I can already read music (grade two+ piano)

Also can you think of any for grade six
(ill be hoping someone is giving away / or selling cheaply MTiP vi tongue.gif Going to a carboot tomorrow to look for some books.*)

Grade 5 - if you've already got the little red book, the MTiP book for G5 (and earlier if possible) and you get some past papers, that would probably be enough. On the other hand, seeing as you enjoy theory and if you *want* to get some other books, I particularly liked Dorothy Dingle's book although it's not very common so you're unlikely to see it at a car boot sale. It's got some errors in it though, so if you do get it, go to her web site and check the errors. Another book I liked is Take Five, if only because it covered G5 intervals in a way I could understand.

Grade 6 - I asked about G6 books the other day and was recommended to get Anna Butterworth's Harmony in Practice, together with the separate answer book, and also Josephine Koh's Practice in Music Theory. I've now got all of them and they look very comprehensive.

I haven't been to a car boot sale for a couple of years but whenever I have been, I've generally found some good stocks of secondhand sheet music smile.gif Not to mention a whole load of other stuff that I didn't realise I needed ph34r.gif laugh.gif

Let us know if you're successful tomorrow!
