Hello,
has anyone here submitted a composition for AS Level music for the OCR exam board in the past? Or is about to? If so, what on earth do you write for the commentary? My teacher says I have to state 4 pieces which have influenced my composition in quite a lot of detail, but I'm having a lot of trouble doing that. If anyone has any advice about writing a commentary I would really appreciate it, it's worth 10 marks which I'll really need as my introduction to historical study marks are low. Any advice on what else to include in the commentary (as well as the influences) would be very much appreciated!
Thanks

I don't know much about Ocr but what kind of music is it? i.e classical, jazz, film etc.

what features from which composer you have used.
use of harmonic progressions
theme/ genre and style
how you have incorporated other peoples ideas into your own comp.
