Full Version: Who Can Suggest A Good Summer Piano Workshop?

I have heard that there are from time to time summer workshops held in Spain or The Czech Republic, etc. for amateur pianists to spend a week or 10 days focusing intensely on improving their skills, polishing a certain repertoire (or preparing for a Grade 8 or Dip exam!).

Anyone have any recommendations based on past experience or know of something that might be organized this year?

I don't actually know anyone who's been, but Paul Roberts (who teaches at the Guildhall) runs a course in the south of France: http://www.castelfranc.com/

My son has attended a masterclass with Paul, and we've also seen him in action at a music festival, and I think he would be very good at this type of thing.

Perhaps the course isn't quite in the area you wanted, but it may give you an idea of the kind of thing on offer.

VERY interesting: my mother lives about 3/4 hours drive from there! Maybe next year . . .
