I was like that with mine when I got it. It hasnt really lasted, but I'm still better at cleaning it than most people (I think a week with the army when it got rained on and rather scratched made me realise that you cant protect them from everything)

From the day i got my yamaha 311 2 years ago (

) i vowed to always clean my flute after using it and always keep it looking shiny and new. I did clean it every time i used it, but it didnt stay looking shiny and new. It'd be SUCH a shame for this new flute to get into anywhere near bad condition though so i'm going to be a little more careful with cleaning and polishing

I want it to last as long as possible

Also this flute will definately have the "luxury" (sarcasm) of a yearly service - something my old flute never got
