Heyy.
How do you practice hearing chord changes in grade 6/7 aural, such as a diminished 7th and for example chords moving from super-tonic - dominant. I can hear the dominant chord as it's an imperfect cadence, but how do you train your ear to hear the super - tonic or any chord before it?
What I would give to have perfect pitch, even relative pitch would be a gift laugh.gif
Thanks

Have you a teacher? If so, ask them to take you through it. Grade 6+ aural tests can be tough. But even without perfect pitch it's possible to recognise the distinctive flavour of some of the chords - especially the diminished 7th, for example. And as you are a pianist, playing through some specimen tests should help you begin to recognise the chord changes.
