What is a Partita?

Thanks

Ben again.

Hello,

A partita is a set of classical variations and is also known as a suite.

A lovely example is Mozarts' Serenade No. 10 for Thirteen Wind Instruments 'Gran Partita'.

Well worth a listen smile.gif

You should also look at the Bach Partitas for both keyboard and solo violin, these are suites as Daisy says, but essentially are dance movements.
