Hello,
A partita is a set of classical variations and is also known as a suite.
A lovely example is Mozarts' Serenade No. 10 for Thirteen Wind Instruments 'Gran Partita'.

You should also look at the Bach Partitas for both keyboard and solo violin, these are suites as Daisy says, but essentially are dance movements.
