hello

ive just started the french horn. the only problem is i can barely play three notes. when i started i expected to be able to learn it quite quickly as ive been playing the flute for years.is it normal to be so slow in learning the horn? or should i change to an instrument that comes to me more naturally?

As i hear it French horn players are in low supply, stick at it and you'll probably always have opportunities to play. The partials/overtones are very close on the horn but don't worry about that just yet. It is a hard instrument to learn but very noble and beautiful to look at and hear played well.
