Well, it is now officially May 2008.

Anyone know when the May 2008 issue of Libretto will be out so we can get a preview of the Grade 8 pieces for the new exam syllabus???

I can't guarantee I'm right, but I seem to remember reading that there wouldn't be a preview of the grade 8 pieces this year - they will be announced with all the others in July.

my piano tutor said they were coming out earlier this year

I read on the AB website somewhere (can remember now) that they would be announced in the May Libretto, as they were in 2006. I hope it's a good selection as this will be my life for the next year

I received an answer to this question from ABRSM -- after sending the fourth email in three weeks.

ABRSM will not publish a preview this year. We will have to wait until July for the entire syllabus.

There's a preview of the syllabuses on the ABRSM web site now. But it doesn't seem to say much that's new compared to what they've put out before:

I was referring to a preview of the actual pieces set for grade 8 which was pre-published in its entirety in the May 2006 issue of Libretto. Apparently those studying for grade 8 will have to wait along with everyone else until July 3.
