i know for piano that there are recordings of pieces on all the lists. u could listen to those and get ur pieces perfect, then the aural, scales etc won't matter as much..........u could buy an aural CD or book and work through the questions - i find them helpful
hope that's ok advice !!!!!

hi, im doin flute grade 6 too.
for scales all i can suggest is to do them really slowly at first then when you know dem, build up speed. all i do is practice them loads i get good marks for them.
for sight readin try looking at as many different pieces you can and try an play them. again your sight readin will get better with practice.
i know i havent said much much but practice really is the key factor.

The CD's are very helpful, both the aural ones and the ones with the pieces on. Which pieces are you playing?

As for scales, the grade 5 to 6 jump is the worst, and I can only sympathise. Its the sudden appearance of all the melodics/ harmonics depending on which ones you did before that caught me out, and unfotunetly it really does come down to practise like you said! I find remembering that the two notes before each full otave are sharpened in melodics (and only the penultimate one in harmonics) helps, but ereally you need to wrok out a method for not getting then confused of your own!

Good luck smile.gif

Too bad if you have been entered for the exam only partly prepared.
Just make the most of your practice time now.
