Heyy everybody, I'm Caroline and I'm an 18 year old violinist from Stoke!! I also play the piano and recently bought a viola because I decided it might come in useful sometime. I am, at present, doing my A-levels, which is rather stressful since I need AAA to get into Manchester Uni in September - to do music obviously!
Rather happy today because I passed my driving test, first attempt, with only 3 minors - I just thought you'd all want to know that . Hehehe.

Well done on your driving test - I can't remember how many minors you're allowed but I literally got that - one more and I'd have been doomed

Anyhoo had such a depressing piano lesson tonight that I've just eaten an entire sticky toffee pudding for my dinner so feel a bit - should probably go to bed to sleep off my self induced sugar overdose!

I do that, except usually with tiramassu or pavlova!!

Did you know that sticky toffee pudding was invented about 3 miles away from where I live in the Udny Arms at Newburgh. They make the best sticky toffee pudding there EVER!

Welcome to the forums! Another violinist - huzzah! I too am doing A2s... Need 3 As to get into Durham, but for History...
Anyway, I'm in Leicestershire, which isn't so very far from Stoke really....

Yay. Because violinists are the best I don't like uni entry grades they just stress me out. Lol. Especially as they don't give everyone the same. A girl from orchestra has an offer of AB for music at manchester while i get AAA, and we can't really work out what she's done or go that I haven't. And it's not like she plays a rare instrument ... she's a flautist!! Hmmm. Ah well. Hopefully it will be alright anyway. Fingers crossed!! I need to get revising .... once i've finished my music coursework lol xxx

Music coursework sonds like a bit of a pain - a few of my friends have found it really heavy-going due to the sheer amount of it...

I'm doing History, English, Latin (yes, I know) and Critical Thinking. Well, I'm teaching myself Critical Thinking, which is on a par with General Studies (if you have an argumentative mind ) - yet the unis still accept it as a subject! Too many essays to write....


Yep - study leave from yesterday (12th May) onwards... My first exam's the 2nd of June.
It was a bit weird on the "last day": we're going back in for the very last day of term for assemblies etc, and we'll be going back in to hand in essays and things, so really....


On our last day we hung up a bedsheet with "SCHOOL 4 SALE - STAFF INCLUDED - PLEASE RING 0800 77265" in red paint out of a 2nd floor window.
We also stuck up laminated signs everywhere saying things like:

NOTICE FOR TEACHERS
THIS NOTICE IS ONLY TO BE READ BY MEMBERS OF STAFF.
IF YOU ARE NOT ONE, AND HAVE CONTINUED TO READ,
YOU MUST REPORT TO THE HEADMISTRESS IMMEDIATELY,
WHERE YOU WILL BE DEALT WITH APPROPRIATELY.

There were quite a few...
We had to get our pranks approved by the headmistress!
