This is a bit of a long shot, but I've not been able to get hold of the publishers to sort out this apparent discrepancy. The current Grade 8 Syllabus for Trumpet has a great piece written by Allen Vizzutti, called Polka. Attached to the book comes a CD with him playing it, but the notes in the first bar of the 2nd page of the piece are different in the book from the recording (it nips along at quite a pace - I slowed the track down just to be sure). If I believe the performance then all the Bs should be B natural apart from the first which should be B flat - as written they're all B flat. It certainly sounds better with B naturals, but its not exactly a tonal piece so its not obvious which Vizzutti intends. Has anyone else noticed this one - if so which did your pupils perform?
Thanks very much,
Richard.
