Okay, so one of my friends and I want to do something for a preformance. She has a WONDERFUL voice, quite simler to Gail Bartell. Her voice goes quite well with Andrew Loyd Weber. We think our voices counter each other's quite nicely, so we are going to go find someone (another friend) to do the piano part of a song.

Now my voice is okay with Andrew Loyd Weber stuff, and we were thinking of singing 'Don't Cry for me Argentina' from Evita. But are there any other Andrew Loyd Weber songs that would go nicely as a duet (that aren't too long)? Range is not too much of an issue, both of us are first sapranos. My vocal teacher will have to hear us to tell us if we are up to standard or not (ie. If we can preform or not). But thats not a worry.

So any suggestions? Andrew Loyd Weber songs are preffered. Oh, and as I go to and International school, it has to be approeate(sp?) (as in, not the Jesus Christ Superstar stuff, with references to him, bad language), 5-6 year olds also come to this, so it is a family thing!

why not try "Angel of Music" something like that from the Phantom of the Opera...where Christine sings first then followed by Meg... can't remember the lyrics naturally.... sorry about that

I know a couple of decent female duets... "I Still Believe" from Miss Saigon is fabulous, or you could try "A Boy Like That" from West Side Story if you want a change from pretty melodic songs.

Also have a look at:

http://www.funtrivia.com/playquiz.cfm?qid=...ls_mixture.html

it's a quiz about alto-soprano duets, and the answers tell you some info about songs and things. The two I already mentioned are in there. If anyone knows any more female duets, I want to know too - there's a friend I like singing with, and we need some new stuff...

Good luck smile.gif
