Just wandering really, what are you guys expecting to get in your theory exams this term, im doing grade one, and think ill get atleast 80% i really hope i get a distinction

I'm shocked at how quickly the exam is coming around! I'm doing grade 4 and I think I've got 2/3rds - 3/4 sorted out, the rest is getting there.... the 4 bar rhythms (my main problem is that 4 bars seems too short!) or composing a rhythm to words is worrying me.... probably more than they should do. I'm just aware that my understanding of rhythms is my weak point . What am I aiming for? aiming for a distinction, but really feel this might be too much this time... we shall see. Going to hit the books again properly tomorrow pm.

As a theory tutor, I have high hopes for my students this year. Sadly, I have only one doing exams in the summer though - grade 7. I predict merit...

Taking G5.
Would like a distinction but realistically I think I am likely to get a merit at best (mainly due to the composition question - I am self-teaching and haven't composed anything since GCSE in 1992!) I'd be happy enough with 'just' a pass, anyway.

I'm taking G8, but I'm also trying to move house at the same time, so not getting anything like enough studying done. I've given up on the exam in terms of good marks, but will turn up anyway, as maybe I will pick up enough to scrape through.

I'm taking grade 6 in a couple of weeks. I would be happy with a good clear pass - not for me all this worrying about distinctions. I only want the certificate because the Board requires it before I can do a teaching diploma. One mark over the pass and I shall be cracking open the fizz. If I don't pass then I shall be like a wet weekend for a while and then I'll try again.
