Update!

Places are filling up nicely with takers for each instrument. The cello is slightly behind the other instruments in numbers of applicants so if anyone would like to try the cello (or, indeed, any of the other strings), do think about coming or persuading someone you know who has been reticent in coming forward! Looking forward to a really interesting morning. (See full details below.)

If you know of anyone who might like to take advantage of this opportunity, please point them in the direction of our website contact page to email their interest or ask for more information:

YLSS are holding a special session for complete beginners on violin, viola, cello and bass from 10.00-12.30 on Saturday, June 28th at West Park Centre, Spen Lane, Leeds. This is an opportunity for anyone who has always wanted to 'have a go' but never had the chance! Tuition and use of instrument will be free of charge and all participants will have the opportunity to join in with the orchestra for half an hour at the end of the morning. Booking ahead will guarantee the use of an instrument on the morning but no-one who just turns up on the morning will be turned away!
YLSS is a charity reg. no. 1088105

I've just signed up for this - for viola. I did think about cello but I think my hands would struggle as they're tiny.

This was mentioned at the Leeds forum do, and looks very good.

Would do it on 'cello, but I can't really justify paying for more trips away than I've already budgeted for this year, sadly...

I'm quite excited about this biggrin.gif

You'll have to wait and see biggrin.gif

Mind you, with playing flute, running and soon being in the final year of doing a PhD I don't know how I'll do anything else blink.gif

It's interesting - you do find everything (at least in my multi-instrumental life) does fit!...

Still really, really want a 'cello...

Is that a picture of me trying to get a 'cello under my chin and feeling a bit miserable 'cos it doesn't work very well? biggrin.gif

If you can make it work you could go on Britain's got Talent!

"Hi, I'm Barry and I can play the 'cello by placing it under my chin!" blink.gif
