A spokesman for OCR:

'A maximum of 5% of the marks on this particular paper are potentially affected. All exam papers have a copyright statement dealing with source material on the back page. This one in particular had more detail than is usual in a music paper. It is unlikely any of hte 12,000 students sitting the examination would have recognised the value of the information in the copyright statement and subsequently used it.'

Really? I find that hard to believe! Hence this poll smile.gif

Rubbish.
My teacher says that if they had enough time to read the credits on the back page they clearly didn't know enough, so surely, anyone reading with even a little bit of initiative would have noticed and "subsequently used it"... or those that did the whole paper and then found the credits could use it to check their answers during the 3 minutes at the end, and if necessary, change exsisting anwer(s).
They're trying to brush it under the carpet by making it sound smaller than the media make out, but really, the truth lies between the two. The media exaggerate, cus that's what the Media does, and they're trying to make it sound better than it is.

But anyway, apparently all the questions concerned will be discounted...which im not happy about cus those are the easy marks I pick up to make the difference between the grades...(cus I didn't know until someone told be afterwards... sad.gif )and the the paper will either be out of a lower mark, or some of the other questions will be more heavily weighted...

it's the kind of thing I really didn't need, i still had 11 more exams following it and the worry of this is so unfair, cus no one knew until recently what the score was with it, whether we'd have to resit or not. Now, I still have 9 more to go, and I just want it to be sorted. wacko.gif

Ditto, rubbish!

There were at least 10% of the marks actually in answers, or heavily in clues. The bit about copyright is also a load of rubbish, it is usually placed at the end of the mark scheme or the cheif examiners report.

I know some of the students would not agree with this, but I think the only way to settle this properly is to do a resit!
Because other than that, not everyone will be happy no matter what action they take, after all they don't know exactly who used the answers and who didn't.
