not to mention the scales
Although buying scale books is not so essential, surely? I very rarely let my students see a scale book, preferring to let them work scales out themselves during lessons and not just in connection with exams.
I'm the same - why buy a scale book when you have to memorise them in the end anyway? I can show a pupil what to do, if they can't work it out themselves and if they get stuck during the week, they can email for help or look on
practicespot for quite a few of them.
