I'm 17.
I like to learn a broad range of songs - a bit of show stuff, a bit of operatic stuff, a bit of folk etc.
I originally started having singing lessons to improve my confidence. Now I have them because I really enjoy them. I'm not working towards anything in particular (I did my Grade 8 when I was 15) but I do hope to do a postgraduate study in voice at one of the music colleges after I've been to university (providing I get in, of course!).
I particularly enjoy singing duets/trios etc. and also like singing songs that can be accompanied by instruments other than the piano (e.g. harp, string quartet, orchestra lol).
However, I don't like it when I'm not given any criticism, because that's not really very helpful. I also don't like it when I'm given songs that go out of my range - I'm fine going upwards, but I'm can't hit notes lower than F below middle C without "growling" (I'm a soprano).
I really like being given a piece that challenges me though! I also like being given pieces that suit my voice.
I suppose I like most things about my lessons!
