the most enjoying bits of my singing lessons are the warm-ups and the repetorie i'm going to sing to my teacher....espeically excited if i have new repetorie to learn.... i, myself is extremely limited.... i only like classical singing...all sorts of composers will do me good...mainly pieces for saprano and sometimes i will sing some musicals...but they would be really classical as well... at the beginning...i thought i would just do singing as an interest...since i am a choir member...but gradually i love it...i took my grade 5 about 8 months (counting from my 1st lesson) then onwards to grade 6 then in 23-3-2004...i did my grade 8.....i finished my grade exams with two years...and i'm thinking to do diploma (with piano as well) in 2006.... as i really love singing...i want to be a professional classical singer..as well as a pianist and probably an organist as well..... i really want to go to the RCM or the RAM...either one would be fine for me......

the final bit....sometimes i really "hate" my singing teacher during the lesson time....she has given me a lot of pressure.... it's unavoidable...because she is an ABRSM examiner, professional soloist and a teacher as well....can't blame her.... we are both quite ambitious....

i'm 17 at the moment.....just for your information...

I'm 17.

I like to learn a broad range of songs - a bit of show stuff, a bit of operatic stuff, a bit of folk etc.

I originally started having singing lessons to improve my confidence. Now I have them because I really enjoy them. I'm not working towards anything in particular (I did my Grade 8 when I was 15) but I do hope to do a postgraduate study in voice at one of the music colleges after I've been to university (providing I get in, of course!).

I particularly enjoy singing duets/trios etc. and also like singing songs that can be accompanied by instruments other than the piano (e.g. harp, string quartet, orchestra lol).

However, I don't like it when I'm not given any criticism, because that's not really very helpful. I also don't like it when I'm given songs that go out of my range - I'm fine going upwards, but I'm can't hit notes lower than F below middle C without "growling" (I'm a soprano).

I really like being given a piece that challenges me though! I also like being given pieces that suit my voice.

I suppose I like most things about my lessons! biggrin.gif

The only thing i hate about singing lessons well i dont reali hate it is all the difficult sight singing and mayb the funni warm up exercises that make me sound like an elephant!
