OK smile.gif , let's do a quick(ish) summary of what we have so far...

Forum concerts: in Anglesey (March 21st); Aberdeen (August 8th or 15th); Milton Keynes (late October)

Adult learner events : in Teddington, SW London (late January/February); Cardiff (late April); Tameside (east side of Greater Manchester) (July)

Playdays : of varying descriptions, on various dates, in Greenwich, Braintree (Essex), Market Harborough (Leicestershire), York, Salford.

Recitals : in South East London, one each January-May and September-November.

Plus the possibility of something from jod in Cambridgeshire/West Suffolk sometime.

Think that's it for now...

I will be posting the 2009 forum event calendar next month sometime.

Aside from what's in the post above, is there anyone else out there who wants to try their hand at event organisation? Maybe a set of recitals in the Rotherhithe style in the north? Or a playday somewhere else? As far as I know, the South West, Norfolk/Suffolk and the West Midlands have never had a forum event of any description yet...

Let me know, either by PM, email (button's enabled) or on this thread! smile.gif

Just a reminder of my request above. smile.gif

Not a lot of extra updates for 2009 since my post of 24/6/08. Phantasmagoriana is making good progress with finding venues for York, and there will be more events after the '08 ones in both Salford and Greenwich, in both cases there will hopefully be a couple of events aside from 'traditional' playdays. smile.gif

No more significant news on Aberdeen, as soon as anything major happens, I'll let you all know.

We're looking at holding a playday or two in 2009, for all orchestral instruments, in Braintree. You turn up, clarinet in hand, I provide music, we play, then if people want to, we then go off to an eaterie to eat. Dates for the playdays to follow.

All very informal.

Drop me a PM if you want more info Katy. smile.gif

Full details and booking usually come online 2-3 months before the event.
There will normally be a separate thread for the event once booking opens so it's a matter of 'watch this space'.

Now I'm receiving a few more specific dates for events, I am pleased to let you all know that the 2009 event calendar will be online in the next couple of weeks or so : go and find your diaries! biggrin.gif

The 2009 calendar is ready and online.

Can all future 2009 enquiries/thoughts/ideas go on the 2009 calendar thread now, and we let this thread sink to the bottom of the list?

Thanks! biggrin.gif
