Hi there. Can anyone help?

For any guitarists out there - the terms pont. tone and norm. tone

Am I right in thinking that these terms mean the following?

pont. tone - using the tip of the finger i.e. more of the nail - a sharper more agressive attack.

norm.tone - using more of the pad of the finger - a more rounded thicker and less agressive attack

Anyone out there who can advise??

Thankyou for reading.

Dan.

Are you talking classical guitar here?

Indeed I am - I'm thinking that it might mean playing nearer the bridge or nearer the sound hole maybe?
