Good luck !

I'm not a string teacher - but one thing I always aim to do is have a new student playing a short tune by the end of the first lesson. After all - it's what everyone wants to do who learns to play an instrument - so I'm sure your teacher will have that aim in mind.

Hope it goes well! keep us posted.

Lizzy violin
I had my first violin lesson in January. It was really good fun and as I could already read music we played quite a few tunes.

I did actually play twinkle twinkle little star, but only 'cause my teacher said it was compulsory!! lol
she was joking, but we did it anyway.

so how was your lesson?!!!

My first lesson was ok. he showed me how to hold violin + bow (not quite sure about it) and we finished playing baa baa black sheep!! so it wasn't twinkle twinkle but something similar. Tomorrow i'm having my third lesson, and i've now got my own violin so should be able to practice from now on. Please read my other post in the viva strings section as it is more complete.

Thanks!
