Just noticed the time - she must be knee deep in viva at this precise moment... blink.gif

Only a few hours left...

I've done barely any playing today. I played through my whole programme earlier and then my fingers' skin was ripping slightly so I stopped. I'll do more later...

I've printed two copies of my notes. I've signed the candidate form.
I've read through the biographies of Brahms and Shost I have. I've read through my notes on the pieces etc. I've read though my programme notes.

I don't know what else to do now...

I have my banana ready and waiting.

Cellocase, I don't know whether you'll see this before your exam, but I really hope your LRSM exam goes splendidly tomorrow! Do let us know how it goes - I'm sure you'll do brilliantly. I'm sure you'll be glad to have all your exams out of the way and have a nice long summer ahead of you.

The very best of luck to you, and I'll be thinking of you! goodLuck.gif

I'd like to add my good wishes to joueur's, cellocase. I'll be able to picture you there so well, having been so recently, and I hope it all goes fantastically well for you. fingersCrossed.gif

Scaramouche, I hope your diploma exam went OK today. Do post and let us know.

Thinking of you especially hard now, cellocase, and willing everything to go just as you want it. You are so brave! smile.gif

I'm back....

No idea how it went! Well, I played the recital pretty much as well as I can play it, I think - one slip right at the end of the Shostakovich, but apart from that I think it was all pretty much as good as I could have hoped, more or less. Just have no idea whether that's good enough. The examiners talked among themselves quite a lot, which was a little off-putting, but never mind. Apparently they did it for the next candidate, too.

Viva was fine - got asked a lot of questions, but could answer them all. And QS also fine, though my tone wasn't great - I think I got the mood of it, and all the dynamics etc.

Basically, no idea how it went. I know I did my best, I don't know whether that's enough to pass or not. Feel slightly sick....!!

Thanks for all the good luck wishes.

(going off to symbolically return all my hefty tomes to the library now, and then I'll collapse....)

Recital - wasn't bad, but not great either. Made a fair few mistakes mostly because my lip had just gone..which I'm annoyed about.

Viva - I answered most of the questions, a few I didn't know though..or said the wrong answer sad.gif

Quick Study - Found it quite easy, but again my lip had gone so wasn't as good as I could have played it.

Who knows really.

So pleased to hear that you played at your best - that's all anyone can do, and I hope you will get the result you want. I read your post to my son, who says the examiners talked to one another in his exam too - apparently it didn't put him off at all as he'd expected them to confer! (I'm sure it would have put me off!)

Don't forget to celebrate! party1.gif

Sorry about your lip, Scaramouche. I remember saying ages ago when son had first entered for the diploma that I thought stamina was quite an issue for woodwind players, and getting shouted down by a lot of people on the forums who thought playing for 35 minutes at a time was nothing.

Congratulations on doing your diploma, and I hope you get a great result. smile.gif

Shall we meet up here again in the week beginning 8th September then to share our agonies of waiting for the result? tongue.gif

Very glad for you both to have finaly got it all over with. Someone told me it may take a few weeks to feel back to "normal" again. Today's been the first day I have felt a bit more relaxed.

Shame about your lip "going" Scaramouche, I don't really know what that means, but I hope it won't make too much difference to your result.

Well done Cello case, sounds like you have nothing to worry about.

I 've been telling people the result will be about the middle of Sept. That way I won't get too wound up...hopefully.

All the best to everyone. Now have a great summer! biggrin.gif

Well done cellocase and Scaramouche!

I hope you both have a fantastic summer now without the diploma exam hanging over you!
