Every bottle?!

I mean, surely you have to drink 5 or 6 of the darn things at least to be that inebriated? I don't know, I've never managed to drink enough of them to find out. Bottles of wine on the other hand... based on my last experience of one of those, shared with my partner... they should come with protection included!

I did notice when I stopped drinking that, oddly, there weren't as many good looking guys out on a Saturday night as I had previously been led to beleive... could there be a connection there perhaps?! laugh.gif

snhs does not make sense as a person. Extremely well informed on just about everything, yet with infantile opinions, and social skills that would embarrass a Neanderthal. He is supposed to be 18 or 19 but writes like the most bigoted, middle-aged crank you could ever be unlucky enough to meet.

Yes, this has been puzzling me, too, and I'm surprised it hasn't been mentioned before.

Sorry sweetie - I read "condomed", completely ruined the jist of your thread.

Now that would spark a debate biggrin.gif

I like the alcopop/condom idea, regardless of the number it takes for the Devil Drink to take effect. I'm sure spares would (or should) be heartily welcomed biggrin.gif and besides, I know a worrying number of people for whom a sinlge alcopop would suffice ohmy.gif not me included, I hasten to add.

(Maybe those who wish to continue the scarcely credible debate I've just read from earlier pages could set up their own thread? That way they might be on-topic.... biggrin.gif )

Yes... it seems fairly obvious to me that the debate here hinges entirely on different definitions of "a good thing". Most people consider good in logical ways - ie how few people get hurt. snhs, and perhaps some others consider good to mean "what Catholicism says is good".

Mayber there should be a thread called "What is the definition of the word "good"" and then snhs can argue to his heart's content... Though I have to wonder how far you can get on a faith based argument... All you can say is "that's so, because I believe it to be so". What else is there?

As for the alcopops and condoms, it seems a fairly good idea for me... but why stop at alcopops? I certainly wouldn't consider myself old enough to be pregnant, but at my age drinking alcopops is just SO childish, and sad - never ever be caught doing it round here, if you don't want to be a laughing stock!

Most people drink vodka, beer, wine or whiskey, would you give out protection with these drinks too? If so, would you give them to responsible looking middle aged couples who have a glass of wine with lunch? Those who are obviously newly weds and could well be trying for a baby? Surely some would take offense at not being considered responsible for themselves!

If you picked and chose who to give them to, it would be an even bigger mine field.

laugh.gif tongue.gif blush.gif I know it was a throwaway remark, but it got my imagination going!

Some people just need to get out a bit more....... smile.gif

Going to a secondary (convent) RC school has made me realise how insular families/communities can become. The world is full of amazing people and cultures, which you need to get out and experience first hand, ie not from the comfort of your study. I think it is important to meet people from all walks of life (not via internet chat rooms! tongue.gif ) in order to broaden your horizons.

You can still hold true to your beliefs but where's the harm in accepting that there can be many different viewpoints, all of which are equally valid?

*I thought vodka/red bull was the main culprit - keeps some parts refreshed even though you're completely off your head wink.gif *
