(Maybe those who wish to continue the scarcely credible debate I've just read from earlier pages could set up their own thread? That way they might be on-topic....

Yes... it seems fairly obvious to me that the debate here hinges entirely on different definitions of "a good thing". Most people consider good in logical ways - ie how few people get hurt. snhs, and perhaps some others consider good to mean "what Catholicism says is good".
Mayber there should be a thread called "What is the definition of the word "good"" and then snhs can argue to his heart's content... Though I have to wonder how far you can get on a faith based argument... All you can say is "that's so, because I believe it to be so". What else is there?
As for the alcopops and condoms, it seems a fairly good idea for me... but why stop at alcopops? I certainly wouldn't consider myself old enough to be pregnant, but at my age drinking alcopops is just SO childish, and sad - never ever be caught doing it round here, if you don't want to be a laughing stock!
Most people drink vodka, beer, wine or whiskey, would you give out protection with these drinks too? If so, would you give them to responsible looking middle aged couples who have a glass of wine with lunch? Those who are obviously newly weds and could well be trying for a baby? Surely some would take offense at not being considered responsible for themselves!
If you picked and chose who to give them to, it would be an even bigger mine field.

I know it was a throwaway remark, but it got my imagination going!
