Twenty years after everyone else, I've finally caught up with Bela Fleck ... check this out, in particular the astonishing electirc bassoon playing of Paul Hanson. He's got lots of vids on Youtube in his own name - phenomenal player.

wow! Thats wierd! What strange sounds both the bassoon and sax get out!

wah wah pedal (actually, it's probably autowah ...) Jeff Coffin on sax. The bassoon is going through a harmoniser (possibly two!).

Amazing stuff - I've only recently come accross this style. I really like the variety of sounds and unusual instrument combos. Paul Hanson has a video on Youtube showing his electric setup - gobbldegook to me, but would make sense to techy types! I find it amazing that you can play a single line instrument and process the sounds to make it sound like a complete ensemble. I want one of those harmoniser thingies!!

Yea! Bela fleck I've been a bit of a fan since I heard Bela Fleck on the Courtney Pine Radio 2 show a couple of years ago.

Wow! Just got round to watching this, love it!
