How difficult is the Fantasie Impromptu Op. 66 by Chopin in comparison to other works on the Dip ABRSM syllabus? I don't see it listed for any level.

I asked my teacher and she said she would teach it to pupils who were post diploma standard.

Any rendition of any piece with no interpretation could certainly not be considered remarkable (is it possible to ever play without some interpretation anyway?) no matter how good the technical skill and control, it would be simply dull: there's more to playing than pressing the right notes at the right time.

I'm currently preparing it for my upcoming ATCL in December. Well, i feel that its quite technically challenging- however, once u learn the first section it really doesnt get much harder cos its repeated at the end- with a coda. The coda's the killer, if you ask me. The middle section needs lots of rubato. I did play it for a school exam and the examiner said that my rubato was a little unnatural.

Lol. Got marked down alot for accuracy of notes and rhythms. Just couldn't get the feel of the piano and so all the running notes went wrong.

No, that's the Nocturne in C# Minor.
I actually haven't really got much to say - I play the violin; but I'm a Chopin fan.
I think with Chopin, the feel and the emotion of the pieces is the most important - it'll sound flat and dull if you're just playing the notes without any emotion. Clarity of sound/tone is also extremely important, I think.

For fantasie impromptu, I think it isn't technically difficult at all.
The emotion control is harder.
