Title says it all really. The regulations cover using the old syllabus for period A next year, but I can't see anything about when the new syllabus is valid from.

Also, anyone know whether it would be OK to use the new material in the teaching DipABRSM, or would they expect the 2007-8 stuff for the autumn session Dip?

Nope, you need to carry on with the current books/syllabus
For next year, period A you can use the current syllabus also, but the scales and sight reading will follow the 2009's syllabus

Yes - you definitely have to wait 'til 2009 before you can use the new music. I gave new music to a pupil some years ago now, and he learnt it all so quickly I entered him for Period C of the 'old' year by mistake! I had to go all the way to London before the cut-off date to retrieve my entry and explain what I had done!
