Hey we aren't all young whippersnappers at school or University, with a long summer break ahead of us.

(But for the record I'll be studying part-time at Utrecht Conservatoire - Harmony and Counterpoint. yay.gif - makes me feel 18, even if my real age is nearly three times that!)

Mrs Pushpull could look at the two websites - www.britishkodalyacademy.org and www.dalcroze.org.uk. I wrote an article called 'The Kodály Experience' which was published in the AB's 'Libretto' mag in May 2003 - you can find it on this website. I'm always happy to witter on endlessly about my passion wub.gif (in case people hadn't noticed rolleyes.gif ) so Mrs P. can always PM or e-mail me for more info.

Well if you plan on learning that lot in 6 weeks (or even 6 months), all I can say is I hope that either

a. You have played most of it before, or
b. You learn at a phenomenal speed, or
c. Your audience is easily satisfied and not too critical

Mozart Bb - there are THREE in Bb (K281, K333, K570)
At least the Debussy is not madly difficult.

The solo stuff is extra and I could learn or not, thankfully! The orchestral reductions are doable and I've learnt bits of it everything before (so the Mozarts and the Doppler). The Poulenc is now postponed (YAY!!!) but the other one is still on, but that's not technically challenging.

The Weber however...It's hard doesn't quite describe it tongue.gif Not only is it very technical, it also needs a lot of flair, plus a lot of imagination. That's going to be the big one!

It's the Mozart Bb one with the cadenza (the book I have has a lot of wrong K numbers). It's very fast! Thankfully it's not a requirement biggrin.gif

Go for it Barry! Is it Elementary or Intermediate?
One day I might do Advanced but sadly Cyrilla doesn't teach it and it probably won't be next year...

PS if you are free any Weds from Sept there appear to be tenor vacancies in the choir Cyrilla, Bagpuss and I sing in... sing.gif

Hmph... Well, I have pretty much 5 weeks worth of being on holiday so not much exciting music learning for me! (Being on tour with orchestra doesn't count because I have to hand in the music at the end and plus it's not that exciting play with dozens of parts missing!) After that, AS maths, physics, chemistry and French, plus grade 8 piano. Next year is going to be fun fun fun!
