Hi.

My teacher told me to get a book of orchestral excerpts, I think its a book that has hard bits from orchestral pieces in it that you can learn (but I'm not really sure). I also think its published by Boosey and Hawks. Can anyone enlighten me as to what she means, becuase I really can't remember.

Perhaps these are the ones?

The Book 1 seems to be what is used by TG as the alternative to scales in their higher grade exams.

thanks very much i think thats probably it. She said something about difficult orchestral extracts, because we're trying to decide how best to use my last year of lessons beofre i head off to uni. Seeing as I'm never going to be a soloist, but love music and so will definately be joining orchestras, she said it would be useful to look at some of these extracts.
