Yes I know they could be naff to play, but we're talking eye candy here! biggrin.gif

Does anyone else like colourful instruments, and do post pictures if there are any you particularly love!

There are coloured clarinets around (the Vito Dazzler being probably the most well known), which were taken up by some marching bands in the US, to match their uniforms.

hi i own a pink flute its just for gigs witha pub band it plays ok and gets plenty of comments i have spray painted my music stand pink as well just in case the pink flute and pink doc martens dont get their attention

No it's not mine - I found it when I was looking for a picture of a cello for hello_cello in the OLTVA but it was so striking I thought it deserved a thread of its own!

If ever I "upgrade" my violin I have a mind to paint my current one and hang it on the wall...but it might be more economical to just buy a cheap rubbish one I suppose! I love the cello.

actually, is it possible to paint a string instrument? would it affect the playing and the tone?

I had a parent of one student who spray painted a violin in dusky pink car paint and it sounded LOADS better afterwards! It was a fairly cheap and nasty instrument to begin with, about 29th hand.

He painted the case purple too!
