Does the ABRSM have any plans to either incorporate jazz theory into the present theory exams or will they perhaps include graded jazz theory as a seperate subject? The only other examining board that i am aware of that has a jazz/popular theory graded syllabus is LCM. Jazz theory is very different to standard classical theory.

I know this is an old post, but I have been looking at whether there is an exam board that does jazz theory. I've just got the Jazzology book - jazz theory - and wondered whether anyone knew if anyone does it?

Many thanks

Does LCM do it?

I've looked on the page where they lay out all their examinations that can be taken, but the only one there different to the traditional music theory is Popular Music theory... unless I am looking at the wrong page?

I looked at this ... Trinity Examinations
