I am an adult starter to the violin....and i love it ! I just wanted to say hi and that i am enjoying reading all the posts on this forum.

I'm just starting to work through the grade 3 syllabus, and my teacher has got me starting on the wrist action for vibrato - this is proving to be a challenge tongue.gif

Hi piacenza,

Welcome to the forums! Violin is a wonderful instrument, and the Grade 3 syllabus at present has lots of pieces that are challenging but very rewarding to learn. Hope you get on well! smile.gif

Hi, I'm in Wiltshire. Rural enough that no-one has complained yet biggrin.gif

I wasn't sure about the grade 3 syllabus at first, but the more i have a go at the pieces, the more i am enjoying them. Originally i wasn't going to do exams, i just wanted to learn to play - but my teacher thinks that the odd exam is good for focusing the mind and technique !

As for the syllabus: i love the Canon, Lord Cutts March, Grand Valse Brillante, O Mio Babbino Caro and the Rumba.

The others i find a bit so so, although Lady Hudson is really giving me the run around. According to my teacher 'timing and i do not get on blink.gif ' - although i am working on it.

I'm not so very far from you, but don't know much about the violin. Lovely to have you with us and I hope you continue to enjoy the forums. smile.gif
