I'm thinking of entering some of my beginners for TG exams over the next couple of terms. My local music shop only seems to have the 2009-11 syllabus books.

Can anyone tell me - is the system the same as AB ie these books can only be used from Jan 09, or can they be used for the Nov/Dec session this year? I can't find anything in the regulations. Thanks.

From what I understand they are from 2009, with the overlap of a term for the current year of books (as with AB). You should be able to get the current stock direct from Faber if not in the shops.
