I'm currently learning this piece, and love it. However getting the expression right is proving to be quite tricky
I'm relatively secure with the fingering and speed, so what is the best way of putting feeling into it and not have my bow bounce and wobble all over the place?
Any tips will be gratefully received

It's originally a piano piece so I would try and find a recording of it played on the piano and listen to that.
I used to play it on the piano and it's a delightful waltz - I think a light touch with a proper 'waltz' rhythm (slightly accent the first beat of each bar) and a slightly humorous approach suit it very well on the violin. It's much more grandiose on the piano.
Just my humble opinion though...

Thanks for your replies.
Good luck for today Dan, hope it goes well. Are you taking grade 3? If so, which other pieces are you playing?
All the best

We like singing 'UP with the bow' on all the bars that go crotchet quaver quaver crotchet as well indulging in frequent waltzing around the room.
It's not much help but it IS funny!
