You can probably also use non-text-speak, punctuate,
and make your verb and noun agree as well, can't you, you clever-clogs?!
Sorry, pizzicato27, not being mean at you (but do note that text speak is against forum rules - not just because it annoys old fuddy-duddies, but because it completely fouls up screen-reading software [software that says the words out loud] because it simply can't read it).
I dunno that I have a greatest achievement...how about, I made it through London in the rush hour yesterday TWICE without getting too completely freaked out. Though I might freak out if my boss asks me to do it again any time within 2008

I feel guilty talking about achievements - not that they're that great, but it's almost as bad as writing a personal statement!
I suppose playing at the Albert Hall (as for a lot of people) for BBC2's "The Choir" with Gareth Malone - we were the Leicestershire Schools Chamber Ensemble, accompanying the singers.
Exam results and things, I suppose...

Getting grade 8 distinction on piano, is not my most impressive/'worthwhile' achievement, but it's the I'm most proud of, and means the most to me, as it represents the most dedicated work i've ever put into something (including AS/A levels). Especially given that my teacher thought I should wait a term or two longer before doing it.

It's good practice for job interviews though - they often ask you what your best achievement is. The first job I got after uni, they asked me that, and I think I staggered them with my response of 'dropping out of university the first time I went' (it took courage, I was able to admit I made a mistake, I made a second chance for myself - that sort of nonsense). I had actually thought about an answer in advance, a bit, because I didn't want to have to answer 'um, getting my degree'.

My greatest achievement was dropping out of school after two hours in sixth form and three days on the register! The acting head, a mathematician, would not let me take any of my chosen subjects, music, art and English, and told me to take geography, history and something else which I also hated so much that I cannot even remember what it was now. I gathered all of my courage together and told him that if he would not let me take the subjects that I wanted then I did not want to stay at his school. I remember thinking that I would get the most almighty row but instead he patted me on the head and said that he knew that my parents were away and that we would see what happened when they get home. My parents were away on a short holiday. I told him that they would agree with me. Then I walked out of the building for the last time. I think that I left my school bag behind too.
I took a year off and worked like mad at my music, took A level a year early, worked in my father’s surgery in the mornings and practised in the afternoons. I applied to music college and was accepted at the age of seventeen. It was the best thing that I did.
My second was giving up the cello but that is another story.

Wow well done you for getting the courage to leave - why didn't the head let you take any of the subjects you wanted? That's awful!! And congrats on getting your A-level early and getting into music college!
I don't know what my best achievement so far has been!! Probably either taking my grade 6 singing after having lessons for only 2 years, getting a distinction in piano grade 4 after 1 year of lessons...or maybe performing on stage in school concerts! (which is a big achievement because I am STUPIDLY shy!)

Music was a waste of time as no one makes a living from that, art was much the same if not an even worse waste of time and English was out as I had passed language but had not taken literature. I had done the language in a year instead of two on the understanding that we would be offered a one year lit. course in fifth form but that didn't happen. The choice was between lit. and music! I knew that if I stayed I would be bundled off to teacher training college and end up going from school to college and back to school again. The thought was unbearable. It was all a very long time ago and time has told me that I was right.

I'm really proud of my degree. I only got a 2.1 but I also did a lot of other stuff while studying (music grades - see my signature - voluntary work, uni choir+orchestra, part time job, classical music society etc). I also got a 1st for my dissertation, which I worked really, really hard on. I loved it, it was about musical emotions

I've been thinking about this, and it's a close call. However, this is second:
In November 1977 in the week before my 18th birthday I won the Junior section of the Henley Head of the River sculling race (a 3km time trial). That's good, but not such an achievement overall. Nonetheless, although I wasn't aware of it at the time, it would turn out to be one of my proudest achievements, because an unknown sculler from Marlow called Steven Redgrave was second, 2.5 seconds behind me! I believe I was the last British Junior to beat him. He was 15!
Apart from that, there are many contenders: Rowing for GB as a Junior, passing my MBBS, passing my FRCS Ed, getting my Consultant post, being the headline act for the first time at a folk club, passing my advanced driving test, taking grade 8 piano after such a long gap, getting married & having children, seeing one son selected to play Chess for England, seeing my other son play Jesus in the school production of Jesus Christ Superstar . . .
. . . actually I think my greatest achievements are my children.

My greatest achievement is bringing up my children and seeing them both become fabulous young people in their own right and knowing I must have done something right.
Seeing some of my ex piano pupils doing well in the field of music and knowing that I played a part in helping them achieve it.

Greatest achievements are the ones that were hard won and the most difficult I think.
Getting round the swimming pool at primary school to get my 25m certificate.
Dancing at Sadlers Wells twice. Once as a page 'boy' walk on part with Northern Ballet Theatre and once in a school gala.
Getting the chance to be a swan in the corps of London City Ballet for two weeks of my life.
Passing my ALCM piano
Getting a First Class degree OU
and then the MA(OU) distinction followed by passing my DipABRSM next day!
Being a good wife and stepmum - probably the most challenging and rewarding achievement ever!!
and I wouldn't have done any of the above without the support of my parents and my husband

My wife of 28 years and our 3 grown up sons.
I ran 5 full marathons. 26.2 miles.
4 marathons I ran were in the mid 1980's my quickest time was 3hrs 02mins.
Then I had a 16 year break and ran 'The London' again in 2003
My time in 2003 was 3hrs 13mins. only 11 minutes lost after 16 years!

Tortellini's greatest achievements in chronological order:
Getting my letter printed in "Bunty" aged 7 - I won a £2 postal order!
Getting all A grades at A level (years ago when they were still really difficult

Yes, I know they are difficult now - don't write in!) I have since got a degree and an MA but my A-levels were my moment of glory! Still didn't get into Cambridge though.....boo...hiss
Having and bringing up my gorgeous son and marrying my equally lovely husband.
Sticking with years of painful physio because I really didn't want to lose the use of one arm - it paid off!
And not forgetting....my Grade 4 piano exam! I remember phoning up for the result and the secretary said " you can tell her she got the top mark!" She obviously thought I was the candidate's mum - didn't have the heart to correct her

I think mine might be getting into RNCM for my postgrad having spent most of my first degree struggling through clarinet lessons with quite a scary teacher and being told by my teacher and other lecturers that performance wasn't my strong point and I should probably not focus on it for my final year major (I ignored them hehe). And I found out I got a place just before Christmas!

Oooh I don't know what to choose from - my life seems to be a little list of ticked boxes... all personal though, nothing really global.
Probably first is falling in love and staying madly in love with my husband.

Getting into RSAMD at 17, (non-achievement was then doing something else instead! (idiot))
Passing my degree while un-medicated.
Staying alive despite a couple of close-calls.
Achieving success as a painter (which has almost daily little achievements).
Starting my post-grad Masters at my age!!!
Passing grade 3 violin with distinction (at my age!!!

)
Oh, and being a good dog-mom
p.s. I can bake a mean cup-cake
