(I'm due to finish a large chunk of work on Friday. There's lots to do in this last week to get it out there an live. At every step we have had something go wrong. I was banging my head against the wall earlier because not only had something else gone wrong, but nobody in the company knew what the error was. So we were waiting on the software supplier, which would have taken roughly a gazillion years. With nothing else to do, I went poking about...and so in the space of about two hours, I have identified a bug, located its cause, and successfully implemented a workaround )

There do seem to be a lot of colds/bugs/'flu around at the moment - get well soon all of you.

A friend of a friend has died. I only knew this person through my friend's blog. All the time I knew her, she was ill, with a condition that was expected to kill her before she was five (she's died at 32). It's just odd because I don't know this person very much (and she didn't know me), and for all the time I've known her, she's been progressing from this condition which everyone knew would kill her in the end (she's been fed, medicated, etc, intravenously for several years now). And even though I hardly know her, and her death was inevitable, it's still affected me. So a bit
