Some of the greatest musicians have had a musical lineage behind them- J.S.Bach, Beethoven, Mozart...to name a few. Whereas some like Handel, Schumann and Tchaikovsky showed original precocity for music.
None of my parents are musicians or play any instrument but both show a keen interest in music, especially my father. What about you?

My immediate family don't play anything but I do have relatives a couple of generations back.
There is a music shop in Ireland Co Clare which is owned by my relatives somewhere down the line.

nobody in my family plays a musical instrument (seriously), though my dad could play abit of harmonica and my mum abit of keyboard. And I think the rest of my family members dislike classical music, coz they would be too happy if i stop playing the piano! haha.. and my mum is slightly tone deaf and sings like a robot!

well i think i probably inherited the bit of musicality that i've got from my great uncle because from what i've been told (he died before i was born) he was an absolutely brilliant musician. However, no one else in my family is musically inclined in any way really lol, my mum thinks she is a good singer but she's absolutely awful and my dad hates music!!!
