How about going down to your music shop, and just trying some out. It's what sounds right and what works for you!! biggrin.gif

Hi Natalie!

Play on your new clarinet for a few weeks with either your old mouthpiece or the new one that comes with it (I think the Buffets come with a mpc). Get used to the clarinet first - you need to know how it reacts and to be quite familiar with it. THEN you could go and try out some new mouthpieces! There are loads of different sorts available - it's a matter of what suits you. tongue.gif

I play with a Selmer C85, but I advise you try out lots of different ones

Instead of a new mouthpiece I got a new ligature, a Ligaphone, and it made an incredible difference. And cost a lot less too tongue.gif

I agree with what everyone else says. Get used to your new clarinet before you try out new mouthpieces. Are you buying a Buffet? Because Buffets usually come with decent mouthpieces. See what you get and then work from there.
