I've been thinking ahead and pricing up my holiday for next year (credit crunch you see, having to budget carefully) and we were thinking of getting a cottage in Northumberland. Anyway my hubby always complains whenever he has to fix bikes onto the car, especially now the kids bikes are almost as big as ours, and I was wondering if anyone has any idea how much they are to hire?

Any help greatly appreciated.

I am not sure where you're gloing, but if you Google "[place name] bike hire" it should come up with a few results

Can only go by a bike hire shop I've used deep in the Kent countryside, so can't say if it's typical, but this bike hire shop charges £20/day.

Thanks for the replies - I did try and google it but I have very little patience with the internet and if I have to check more than 2 or 3 sites I give up and the ones I found were useless.

£20 a day seems a bit steep. You can hire a bike for a week for that in Cambridge. Probably depends where you are and what you want it for I suppose.

I did a search in Yell.com for bike hire in Northumberland, and got four places, but none have a web site so you'd have to phone them to check prices.
