Does any such thing exist?
Our piano is old, and to be honest... not that great. Its keys are cracked and chipped... the soft pedal when used move the hammers so much on some keys, it plays a for example E and Eb at the same time. The pedals are also so high i cant actually have my heel on the ground.

Do you mean for one at home or a school one?
There used to be the fame academy bursary, although I'm not quite sure how that works and I think there were boundaries on age etc. and what the instrument would be used for. wacko.gif Seem to vaguely remember something else to do with the BBC but that might just be me! I think music centres sometimes hire out instruments although I suppose pianos would maybe be a bit unlikely?
sorry I'm not much help!!

P.S. have just looked up the fame academy bursary, it now appears to be the BBC performing arts fund and is open to 11-15 year olds, bursaries up to £1200 are avaliable, can't remember how much pianos cost but I would have thought that would get you a fair way there...

The BBC have various things you can apply for. If you're between 11 and 15 there's an instrument grant that it looks like anyone can get, then there's others for people who can 'demonstrate excellence in their chosen field' etc etc

BBC Performing arts fund

EDIT: looks like i was beaten to it!

If you have some funds you might be able to find a decent second hand digital piano. If you look for a good make and one that is in good playing order and not more than two or three years old you could get one quite cheaply. Have a look on ebay or the small adds in your local paper. You might be lucky. I know that many will say that digital instruments are not as good but a good one would solve almost all of your problems, would be in tune and would have working pedals.

Some links of other places you could go to are: http://www.justflutes.com/pages/info45.htm

Also, remember, if you buy a piano, if you're in full time education, you can get it through school and get VAT off.
