Full Version: Getting Nervous Now...

Only a few days until the results come out!

I'll actually be away with friends for a week, so my parents will know my result before I do from envelope size (my last two came in big brown envelopes with "Certificate enclosed: do not bend" on the side - a bit of a giveaway).

I'd love to get a third big envelope, but I just don't know - especially since my examiners talked through my recital.

Anyone else getting nervous?

I gather it is an AB diploma you took?

I suppose it is a bit of a give-away! I confess my heart sank when I got a letter instead of a brown A4 but as it was a Trinity diploma and I had never taken one before, little did I know that the results come in a letter first with the certificate to follow several weeks later.

Be sure to push the furniture aside before you turn cartwheels. smile.gif

Good luck everyone with their results.

I reckon it will be at least another week, so am trying not to think about it yet. At least my son will be at home all next week ready to receive any big brown envelopes - after all the tales of unfeeling postmen deliberately bending certificates or delivering them in a soggy state I'd be very nervous if no-one was in the house. And if it's a small envelope, he can feel free to be miserable if he wants to.

I'm looking forward to hearing that everyone on the forums passed - I think there are about 10 results to come, not counting Scaramouche's early one. I hope you've done really well, cellocase - are you waiting to go to Oxford or Cambridge in October?

Oxford biggrin.gif And your son's off to Durham, isn't he? Which college? (PM if you prefer).
Yes - ABRSM - and I'd forgotten I'd put that in my signature, so didn't mind a bit!

I'm finding myself utterly over-analysing now. If I failed, it will be on the recital, I reckon - I thought the other sections were okay - but...!!!

And try to avoid doing what I did - jumping for joy in a low doorway wacko.gif

I think I've failed, because I've re-lived my exam so many times in my head and I just wasn't up to scratch!

I won't know till next week (if the results do happen to come this week) as I'm holidaying in Italy and the ABRSM refused to let me phone them up to ask whether or not I've passed or failed.

If you've passed does it say 'DipABRSM' or whatever after your name on the envelope? My sister will be able to tell then.

Which college in Oxford will you be going to, cellocase?

Mine didn't, but the biggest giveaway is the envelope. Failures usually come in a C5 envelope, passes in one of the AB's certificate envelopes.

I don't care if it's soggy wet from all the rain and buried behind the Petunias, I'd rather have a big creased up pulp of an envelope than a nice dry one small enough to come through the letter box any day! blush.gif

Oh for an envelope that's wet..... sleep.gif (because it's too big to fit, not because silly post man dropped it in a puddle!) biggrin.gif

You should hear very soon now Muddy Paws - we heard today.
