Hi ,

This is my first entry into these forums ....introduced via a fellow cello buff.

My problem is getting myself comfortable with the perfect sitting position with my cello. Any hints and tips on finding the most comfortable position??

Hi Maxi!
Welcome to this intriguing place!

This is a sore topic for me!
At home and in the lesson I can be REALLY comfortable playing and practicing cello.
When I play with a group of musicians in church, space is at a premium, and the 2 cellists are squashed up so much that I find it difficult to bow. And sometimes its so bad I am not sure of my finger positions, as the cello is at such an unnatural angle and I have to keep checking.
This may be down to my inexperience. but it's annoying none-the-less. I'm reluctant to practice all squashed up like that, as my practice time is precious.
I'm sure you'll get great advice from the experts out there!

How about posting this in Viva Cello? I'm sure they have more answers there. biggrin.gif
