I have started using the Trinity Guildhall Theory Books with my pupils as I like the layout a lot better than the ABRSM. I have a query regarding pages 18 and 19 grade 2 Slow and Fast Beats. The questions are about speeds and beats using the metronome. I undeststand the bit about the beat being the crotchet and which is fastest -: crotchet = 112 or 60 obviously 112. The bit I am unsure about is where different beats are being used for example-: are 112 minims faster than 60 quavers?
Please could anyone enlighten me on this. Thank you.
Belinda
112 minims per minute would be 224 crotchets per minute or 448 quavers ..... a bit faster i think!!
