Scaramouche
From last session other than mine?
BerkshireMum
Nothing as yet, Scaramouche. I've a feeling tomorrow could be the day! (Then again, my feelings are so often wrong that I don't kow why I bother to have them!! tongue.gif )
BerkshireMum
Wow - great excitement here!! Son passed with distinction! woot.gif (Mind you, the words "with distinction" are the smallest on the certificate, so it's not immediately obvious!) Just to remind folk, it was DipABRSM in Music Performance on clarinet.

The most exciting bit was getting 24/25 for the Viva Voce, which was described as "at a level beyond that required". So all the research and effort put into the programme notes certainly paid off.

I think we are going to be celebrating this weekend! party1.gif

Hope everyone else is pleased with their results.
Babybird2
Wow that's fantastic - congratulations to your son!! biggrin.gif

Congratulations to BerkshireSon!! woot.gif
BerkshireMum
Thanks very much, Babybird2 and Sarah123. It was certainly well worth the long wait for results! biggrin.gif

Hope you hear soon, David.

How old is your daughter? My son was just reminiscing about discovering 3 years ago that someone had achieved a distinction in her DipABRSM, and thinking that he would never be able to do that! It's amazing how if you keep practising and have a good teacher (his is the best!) you can climb to greater heights than you ever thought possible.

I hope your daughter gets as much pleasure from her playing as my son has had from his over the years, whether or not she ever does a diploma. smile.gif

Yes, I'm like a cat who's got the cream! biggrin.gif BerkshireSon is still beaming from ear to ear 12 hours on! We were lucky to hear so soon, I think.

Good luck to all those still waiting.

Huge congrats to BerkshireSon! (And Mum, of course!)

She's 12 and working for Grade 6. She does enjoy her clarinet playing but actually is probably not motivated enough to take it as far as your son has done. We'll see!

To be at grade 6 by 12 is pretty good. She must be somewhat motivated!

CONGRATULATIONS! What wonderful news.

As for me, I spent a week in Wales with a twisted stomach at the thought of what was on the doormat, spent a rather apprehensive 4-hour car journey, and got back to find -

no post from ABRSM.

Monday?!
cellocase
Okay, forget the above post - I just had a second thought. I jokingly told my parents, who aren't at home at the moment, that they should put the envelope under my pillow when it came.

I just looked under my pillow.

I passed my LRSM with distinction!!! I'm SO relieved!
73% and a very happy cellocase.
dolcebaby
I did my DipABRSM piano teaching and was convinced that if I did pass I would only have scraped through, so it's been a very tense week - but I got a distinction! So happy.

Now come the really scary bit - actually starting to teach!

Congratulations to your son BerkshireMum, Muddy Paws and cellocase and dolcebaby! What wonderful news.

As for me - I've been reading this forum very nervously, watching the results coming in, dreading how I'm going to say that I've failed...But I PASSED! ohmy.gif I really can't believe it as I'd convinced myself that I'd failed. I probably could have done a bit better, but that's not the point - I can now stick DipABRSM after my name! biggrin.gif

For the past few weeks I've managed to convince myself that I'd failed. But today my youngest son opened the door to the postie as the CERTIFICATE envelope wouldn't fit through the postbox!! So I passed!!! party1.gif

DipABRSM on Principles of Vocal Teaching!!!

Not a distinction, but I didn't expect one as my head was all over the place having only just moved house a couple of weeks before.

Thank you Daisy Chain.

Congratulations Sarah!

I don't think I've congratulated Scaramouche yet, either, so congratulations!!
vulpus_rex
Congrats to all on passing.

Just got back from two weeks in Italy to find a certificate on the door mat! Still a bit shell shocked as was convinced I'd failed (again).

Congratulations everyone. Especially Cellocase (not that I'm biased towards the cello!!!). You must be such a natural. Distinctions in both your Dip and LRSM!!! Did you decide in the end to study music at Uni or are you going to do a post grad course?

No, I'm going to study Classics at uni, actually - I might well do a postgrad, though. Maybe I'll even think about that FRSM after uni....not for many years, though! wink.gif

Only just spotted this thread. Are we counting Trinity exams as well?

Got the ATCL recital (piano) a few weeks ago. At least I hope so - the certificate still hasn't come!

Didn't get distinction though.
