Congratulations! After all that good stuff in one post, I think I'd be afraid to open the post for the rest of the week, so here's hoping you are on a roll!

Well done, join the ALCM band !

Thanks, though as someone said earlier, it isn't a 'proper' ALCM!

Who said that?!

Congratulations, David! hurrah.gif That was quite a day's post!

A little late posting this but I passed my LRSM (Violin performance)! Only just scraped a pass (48%) but as I have M.E. and can only lift my violin for about 15 mins a day, was rather pleased with that!!! biggrin.gif

That truly is a remarkable achievement - you should feel extremely proud! Wow.

Yes, wow indeed - very well done.

You should write a book on your practise techniques; I'm sure it would be a bestseller. I'd buy it for one! smile.gif

Well done you. ME is dibilitating, I took and passed my LRSM singing last year. I have Fibromyalgia. However instead of trying to compare complaints, I thought I'd add this to let you know know I empathise just how difficult it is to continue life as a musician with something so horrid.
BerkshireMum
Well done! clap.gif But how did you manage a 40 min recital if you can only lift the violin for 15 mins?

Thanks for all your congratulations! party1.gif

I managed my recital through a few different ways. I had quite a lot of extra time added and chopped my recital up. I also played everything sat on a stool. I played my first piece (10mins) then did the viva on that piece. Then my second piece (4 mins) and the viva on that. Then the sight-reading (which I didn't actually play through until the performance as I have trained myself just to imagine it with my fingers). Then finally the big piece (25mins) after a 15min break, bananas, chocolate, caffine, rescue remedy and all the adrenaline pumping through my system! After the exam my husband had to carry my violin to the car alone, then drive the car to me to pick me up. I slept all the way hoome (90min drive) and was in bed by 7pm that evening. sleep.gif

But was def. worth it all!!! biggrin.gif

That sounds horrendous! I'm so glad you passed after all that.

I do hope your ME clears up; I've heard that sometimes it just goes away after a time. It must be very difficult having so little energy.

Yes, except it was the ALCM.

Ah, now I understand. Maybe you just did so much better than you thought. smile.gif
