I attach details of an interesting opportunity...

The ABRSM is looking for a selection of instrumentalists to take part in filming a promotional DVD.

The short film will be used by our international presenting team to inform teachers about the work we do here at ABRSM and explain how the exam system works generally as well as being used as a promotional tool.

Anyone who wishes to participate will need to prepare all of the elements of an ABRSM exam including pieces, scales, sight reading/singing, aural tests etc for your grade. You will be required to take part in a mock exam here at our offices in central London. Your exam will be filmed and excerpts of the footage obtained will be used to form part of a larger film.

We are looking for a variety of standards of instrumentalists to take part:

Piano - Grade 3
Piano - Grade 8
Violin - Grade 2
Violin - Grade 4
Violin - Grade 6
Flute - Grade 3
Flute - Grade 7
Clarinet - Grade 7
Trumpet - Grade 5
Horn - Grade 5
Tuba - Grade 5
Guitar - Grade 8
Double Bass - Grade 5
Singing - Grade 4
Bassoon - Grade 5

If you or one of your students have recently sat one of the exams listed above or are preparing for one in the near future and would like an opportunity to try out your work in front of an ABRSM examiner, please contact us at dvd@abrsm.ac.uk.

Please note that ABRSM will not be offering a fee for taking part in this project but that we will cover travel expenses incurred within the London area. Filming will take place in the week commencing October 13th, 2008.
